A massive price was once again recorded in the Ganesh laddu auction in Hyderabad. In the auction held on Tuesday midnight at Keerthi Richmond gated community under the Rajendra Nagar circle limits, the Ganapati laddu fetched a whopping Rs. 1.01 crore. In this auction, which is held competitively every year, the Shaktimaan team members won the laddu this time.
The laddu auction has a special recognition in Keerthi Richmond Villas. Community residents split into four groups and compete every year. This time too, in the auction that went on suspensefully until midnight, the Shaktimaan team achieved victory. It is noteworthy that last year (2025) in the same community, the laddu fetched a record level of Rs. 2.31 crores. Although this time the price is less compared to that record, crossing the one crore rupees mark has become a talking point in the city. With a strong belief that acquiring the Lord’s laddu brings auspiciousness and prosperity, devotees are not hesitating to pay any price.
While laddu auctions in gated communities in Hyderabad are taking place in crores, now everyone’s focus is centered on the Balapur laddu auction, which is considered very prestigious in the Telugu states. Tomorrow, the historic Balapur Ganesh laddu auction is going to be held. This auction journey, which started in 1994 with just Rs. 450, reached lakhs of rupees in three decades. Last year, the Balapur laddu was acquired by Lingala Dasharath Goud of Karmanghat for Rs. 35 lakhs, while in 2024 it fetched Rs. 30.01 lakhs.
Curiosity prevails everywhere as to whether the Balapur Ganapayya laddu (21 kg), installed in a mandap set up in the model of the Puri Jagannath Temple this time, will create a new record. Amidst prices touching crores in gated communities, suspense continues over whether the Balapur laddu will match those records or not. It is a tradition that the city’s immersion begins only with the Ganesh Shobhayatra (procession) that takes place after the Balapur auction.
